Beating the Spring Heat…

Mountdream June 19th, 2007

My goodness, It is only June and the temperatures are already soaring! Na and I put in our little air conditioner this past weekend– Sunday it was 97! We headed up to Golden Gate State Park for some cooler air.

New front garden.

Two apple trees (Fuji and Red Delicious) and a Sargents Crabtree are growing in the backyard now. We will post pictures of them next week, after the back fence is put up. We are not really happy with the vegetable garden right now– to many weeds have taken root! We think we'll have to lay down some weed barrier soon! Our squash garden at the community garden is coming along– we've more pumpkins than edible squash! Some of the gardens are amazing in the CG– all the perfect rows of beautiful vegetables! I think we'll be saving a lot this year by growing our own, and being part of the CG.

This weekend we are headed to Camp Hale (near Vail). We leave Thursday morning and perhaps we will be back Sunday (it is suppose to be upper 90's on Sunday again!). Here is a picture of last years Camp Hale adventure.

Last years camping trip.

Perhaps we'll have some new pictures after this weekend. All for now– everyone stay cool.  Cool
